The Jollof that didn't.

A rant.

While everyone is busy tweeting or talking about Queen Elizabeth's death, I was busy making Jollof. And I want to say, that’s all that matters to me.

While Asake is trending because what I heard was “Damn, Asake. This man! Hit” now, I leave you to make sense of everything.

While Jeff Bezos is trending. I wish I know the story. But it will appear that I don’t care enough to google it 👀

And someone said they hated the whole Royal family of England and I believe we know why. But people cannot move on?

Yes, history happened. But we must agree that other things should bother us. PS. Do you have your voter’s card now? 👀

U’m… I also want to remind you, that this is Nigeria.

And yes, I probably will read about the history that led to all this hate. I believe it’s more than I know.

So, while the whole world is trending, the most important thing is happening under your noses.

I was making Jollof that did not Jollof.

It looks like a faded yellow sunflower in the rainy season and I’m considering telling my colleagues that it is fried rice.

Because there are carrots and green beans as a topping and that should make sense.

Yes, I am telling you now that this is all that matters right now.

Because being hungry will make you forget about Colonization and a hungry man cannot fight a war. Or is it just me that becomes useless when I’m hungry?

The world is rapidly becoming a place where anybody can say anything ‘literally' because of freedom.

Yes, I am asking. This is a question.

So, while the world is trending, I am lying on my bed and I am repeating these words to myself “We will always have words.” But now, it’s just me.

And although I am feeling broken all over again, I must remember to not dwell in the pain.
